It was a good day…

Today our department celebrated Christmas together! Yeah! It was my first official Christmas gathering of the year.

Following is a dramatic re-enactment of events that actually happened. No animals were harmed in the making of this blog post. (Okay, so one snowman met with an unfortunate demise, but he was later skinned and eaten for nourishment.)

Cast of characters: Natalie (makes herding cats look easy), Bob  (the checkbook and executive decision-maker), Jason  (I won’t eat this because I may be allergic to it), David (has some weird snowman issues), Michele (hates my camera), Tammy  (paper chain lightning!), JoAnn (“maybe Jerry is just telling me he’s not cold so I won’t get onto him for not wearing a jacket when the temp is 41 degrees.), Andrew (eats anything you put in front of him and some things that happen to fly by), Kristie (thinks we aren’t well, but likes us anyway), and me(just me)

We started off by walking across the bridge to RuSan’s for some sushi.

Andrew and I stopped for a Kodak moment. (Never put a the small melons in the same buggy with the big ones)

Surprisingly, we all made it to RuSan’s safely (Unfortunately David, Bob, and Kristie are not in this picture):

We’re still not sure if Andrew knows how to use chopsticks, but his mouth worked just fine. He really should learn how to chew though since Sushi won’t fit in a straw. We put him in the corner to try and trap him in and save some food for the other patrons, but he always managed to get out and find more.

Some of us were all about presentation:

Some of us were all about the pile:

Then we went back to the building where Natalie had a nice surprise for us. She had set up a room for us to all decorate cookies together. Hurray for sugar shock!!!

Some of our handiwork:

These were mine: For the one person that may be interested: Yes those are red hots! You know who you are…

Even our fearless security guard Tatiana made some:

David decapitated a snowman because a true hunter always makes sure his prey doesn’t suffer long.(Sometimes he really frightens me):

Some of the decorating was pretty insane, I even forgot to photograph the two best ones:

Tammy and I decided it was time to finish the tree, so we made some construction paper garland for it:

And to cap off a perfect afternoon, we finished decorating OUR tree!

Everyone sing along

O’ Christmas Tree, O’ Christmas Tree

TA-DA!!!

Now this tree has officially been “pimped”, so no one in all of Buckhead Church will be able to beat our Christmas display. Yay US!! The rest of our co-workers can try all they want, but they better really bring it because those decorations were mostly made by the weekday kids.

So all in all, it was a pretty good day. We had some fun and even got some work done. Hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Wow.. that is all i can say.. i wish there was a comment section for each picture.. I love the tree… Your party looked like fun, I love RuSan’s. I do the pile method, that is the best!! Luckily, i know how to use chopsticks (the correct way) The bleeding snowman is just wrong!!! Wrong i tell you!!!!!!!!

Jerry, you are so cute.. Especially that picture of you and Andrew in front of the tree. Jerry, you are my hero!

  2. You frighten me too sometimes Jared.

  3. Speaking of chopsticks? Are we doing our Thursday night dinner this week? (we probably need to make a creative name for it…) I know it’s been kind of a stressful week, but I wanted to ask anyway.

  4. Your camera will pay for that comment.

I’m sad I missed the christmas cookie decoration time…maybe we should have a secondary christmas cookie decoration time. One can never have too many christmas cookies, don’t you think?
