Where’s Geraldo?

It seems that it’s been a while since I did this, so here goes:

This evening I’m chilling in what I call the baptism sitting room. This is where people wait before getting baptized. Unfortunately standing up in front of thousands of people in shorts and a t-shirt is kind of scary for most people. Fortunately someone thought it would be nice for those people to have this room to calm their nerves, meet with the pastors, and watch the service before and after their baptisms. This is yet another place to get away from it all during the week and hang out when you need peace and quiet. It’s also a lot more comfortable now that the clothes dryer vent is fixed and the area no longer smells like a mildew covered high school locker room. (Boys side of course because the girls wash their stuff… haha. )

All of that being said, this room does often remind me of when I was baptized. I was nervous, I was horrible in my video, and I slipped in the tub as Blake was lifting me out of the water.. There was also about 40-50 people from singles ministry and my entire family sitting 10 feet from me. But it’s funny how trivial all of those things are because as I stepped into that tub, there was nothing on my mind but Jesus Christ

How about you, What’s your baptism story?
